Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt will reportedly grace the first episode of Koffee with Karan season 8
‘Koffee With Karan’ is the most popular and talked about chat show, hosted by Karan Johar where he invites Bollywood celebrities and indulges in deep conversations with them. After a successful stint of seven seasons, KJo is coming back with its exciting new season with Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor to be the first guest of the new season. Yes, you read that right! As per the latest report, the Brahmastra couple will be gracing the first episode of Koffee with Karan 8.
As reported by Mid-Day, Karan is keen to bring the 8th season of the show and it will begin streaming in June end. The filmmaker wants to open the new season with Alia and Ranbir as they have recently embraced parenthood. A source close to the development revealed to the portal that Karan plans to feature new combinations in Koffee With Karan 8, and for that Ranbir and Alia are on top of his list, knowing the audience is curious to know about their married life and parenthood. “He would also love to have Shah Rukh Khan, who was conspicuous by his absence in the last edition, feature in the opening episode or the season finale,” the insider added. To note, the Raazi actress is a regular guest of KWK and has in fact opened the last three seasons of Koffee With Karan. She graced the couch with Shah Rukh Khan in the first episode of season 5. In the sixth season, she opened the episode with Deepika Padukone, and in season 7, Alia graced the premiere episode with her Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani co-star Ranveer Singh.
On the other hand, Ranbir reportedly refused to appear on Koffee With Karan season 7 owing to the fear of saying something controversial. Talking about RK’s absence in the seventh season, Karan Johar told NDTV, “He's a really close friend of mine. He said 'If I say something, kuchh gadbad ho jaega so I'm not coming'. He teases me, he says 'you pay me what you're getting, then I'll come.”
